Sarting at the Butterbridge the day was warm with high cloud which would decend as it went on . We made our way up the fence staying off the beatin track untill we jumped the fence and headed to the ridge to our left looking for some hand work on the outcrops that litter this side of Ime .The Farmers were out with the dogs gathering the sheep for the end of there Munro bagging days and only to land on a hillwakers dinner plate , thats irony for you ! Once on the ridge we followed it to the summit , it was quite hard going, there are at least 3 false summits , the cloud was now thick and wet but not to much wind and we never had to put on our proofs . When at the top the sun squeezed its heat through the cloud and the wind was nonexistent which made for a beautifull stillness but with no veiws at all.. After a sandwich , hulahoops and a cement brick oatbar we made our way down following the path we then veered off to the right hoping to come down the burns that come out at Rest And Be Thankfull , I have never seen so many burns We laughted and thought this must be the firey way down as it seemed to be covered in 70% burns lol , the opposite was true as for the first time in 3 outings water had got in our cheap but good boots . We stopped at a wee damd and rang out our socks and insoles before headind down the rest .When the road was in sight, to our shock we were about a mile south of RABT , and more that 2 from the car , we were happy the hit the road and good chat about the walk and holidays made the road back pass quickly .Home for some lamb chops . All in All a great day but i think we will plan our route back better next outing ...Danny and Kylie Munro
