Dear Friends
Today I have walked to my first Munro: Ben Cruachan 1126m. I started about 9.30am and have reached the summit around 12.15pm with few stops on the way up. I have done the normal, most known route, but today was a wet ground and slippery. Dangerous in some places but I have managed. The day was very misty up there and views were limited but beside this I had lunch on the top I have met wonderful people up there. It was an incredible experience being there, feeling enormity and vastness of the place.Thank You Robert from Oban and Peter from Inverness for such a multitude of information about mountains and climbing in general. Guess what? Who is in the middle?
Warning
Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.
