Correct, a great beauty of her day and at six feet tall must have cut an imposing figure. The Gentle Shepherd was a play written by the poet Allan Ramsey, later turned into the first Scottish opera. Allan Ransey is among those portrayed on the Scott Monument and was the father of Allan Ramsey the famed portrait painter.
