Clue time again. A contemplation of table condiments could identify DD.

Another clue. GM and DD are fictional characters, DD giving his name to the non-fictional and non-human characters.

Is GM Guy Mannering and DD Dandie Dinmont? The latter was a farmer with terriers, one of whom was Auld Pepper and Auld Mustard.

My childhood ambition of reading all the books in the world came to an abrupt end when I came across my parents' Complete Waverley, and the only acquaintance I have had with it since was as a bookseller when I always carried a check-list of Scott and Dickens in the hopes that I could reasonably turn down books if the set wasn't complete. (Sometimes waived in the case of Dickens).

At last! Was running out of ideas for clues. I find both authors turgid I'm afraid, possibly the serialisation effect.

Your go.

Sorry Sgurr, I thought this lock down would create plenty of time to do this. Rubbish, it is not social isolation (just physical) since the start of it I have never stopped socialising with all sorts (all at home of course) of old friends and relatives that I don't usually talk to from 1 month to the next. It is great but I am also determined to fit in a good walk each day so I don't seize up. I keep meaning to think about these posers when I am out walking but there is too much to see and distract me. Yesterday it was a peregrine, today it was the first puffin of the year. I promise to give it some thought, tomorrow!

Maybe no one has been looking at this. A final throw, you can eat it.

Atholl Brose is known as Cranachan?

I personally would quibble with that!

Yes. Ingredients pretty similar. Also see Wiki

This is the land side of Kirkhill (old people's apartments) where the East Infants used to be.
