This walk was performed the weekend of 21st of March 2020 just before the UK government lockdown. It has been posted later only because of the sudden abundance of free time ....
I would like to bring people's attention to a quick access route to the Fisherfield 4 Munroes (including the demoted one) with starting point from the access to the Fannaichs at the loch a'Bhraoich (grid reference 161 761). A good road for four-by-four allows 40 minutes cycle (but getting wet feet due to numerous burns and puddles to cross) to the Lochivraon lodge. Leave the bike there locked to the fence and continue another 40-50 minutes on the same track now (the road finishes at the house) along the slopes of Creag Bhruigh Braghad, climbing slightly for the first 30 minutes and the starting to descend to the Loch an Nid. 15 minutes from the highest point is an ideally located, flat and horizontal patch of soft grass for a camp site for the night (I left Friday lunch time from Edinburgh, getting to the this point about 7pm in the evening in mid March).
From there, next day it is 30 minutes access to the hills with an easy walk on the right hand side of the quarztite slope to the top of Sgur Ban and joining the traditional walk across these hills.
With an early start the next day it is possible to get the four hills done and make a quick escape the same day back to the Dundonnelle road.
