I assumed MS was Muriel Spark, but it's Mary Shelley. F is Frankenstein and O is Orkney, where the good doctor F attempted to create a mate for his creature.

Mary Shelley apparently spent some time in Dundee. Wonder where she got the idea for hulking misshapen creatures arisen from the dead.

I'll now contemplate devising a new question, unless anyone wants to chip in in the meantime.

Very unfair to Dundonians. We moved to Scotland in 1964 and have noticed that they all seem to have grown by 3" since they stopped being so malnourished. (Some alas have grown it round their waists, but it is a vast improvement.)

Well done. I travelled on it some time in the early 70s when it was at Ballachulish, and again some 25-odd years later at Kylerhea.
