Name that Loch!

The hill in the background is a mere pimple compared with the majestic hills around.

Northwest Highlands, and a particularly iconic view could be seen from the shores of this loch in the background, were the weather a tad better and we were facing in a different direction.

It reminds me of a route I cycled a few years ago with my son - the private estate road along the east side of Loch Clair. But I don't recognise the background hill at all - so I'm probably wrong!

maybe it's just the weather in the photo that reminds me...

Loch Laggan? We stopped off there one time, went for a wander and when we got back the hub-caps had been nicked. Lucky the car wasn't up on four wee piles of bricks, really...

Sorry, was away last night (a first!!)

Yes, that's it Tim. The reason you don't recognise the hill is that its really just a little bump, Meall an Leathaid Mhoir, on the slopes leading up to Beinn Liath Beag/Sgorr nan Lochan Uaine.
So yes, Loch Clair.

Cheers, no mistaking that row of stones, sometimes under water, sometimes high and dry.
It's quite a moving experience when canoeing over the pipe outlet from Loch Mullardoch as the loch gets topped up. Creates quite a current (there's a pun in there) flowing towards the dam.

Now for a short pause while I search my photo archive. :)

Looking towards Streap and Sgurr Thuilm from above the east end of Loch Quoich?

Yep, that's Loch Loyne.

Photo from one of the parking spots on the A87 using a telephoto lens at 200mm.

Cheers, I recognised Gairich eventually, after thinking it looked familiar, then it was a process of working back from there.

OK, where's this small named bay on a larger loch?
