Sunshine & showers all day.
The first part of the walk is through very steep overgrown Forrest, be careful during rain as underfoot is very slippy.
Once getting up onto the moorland it is a long boggy slog following the burn. The bog is unavoidable so be prepared for wet feet!
The final climb was enjoyable, however the winds were not! On a clearer day there would be great views to your left over the other Crianlarich Munros and views to your right of Loch long and Ben Lomond. These were intermittent through the clouds. A few false summits and hidden peaks made it mentally challenging but still enjoyed the final stretch.
Would recommend after a stretch of dry weather as the bog would hopefully not be as tedious.

I've heard from others, including one friend who has done all the munros, that this route is an exceptionally boggy one!

I think next time I am in the area I will try the alternative approach from Derrydarroch - although the "over the stile" view in your TR is very beautiful.

I’ve tried 3 different approaches now that all have some level of bog. Inverlochlarig works reasonably well.

The new(ish) hydro track has made the Derrydarroch approach more attractive - it is pathless from the dam at NN356197 to the ridge, but the going underfoot is mostly fine.

Very nice walk in from Derrydaroch.

Thanks Robert - yes I think it was reading your report a while ago that gave me the idea of going in from that side!
