Walking in the heat

Walking in the heat

Postby gingerwoods » Sat Aug 08, 2020 4:20 pm

Hi,
Just wondering if you think it will be too hot to do a walk tomorrow? I was thinking of a couple of Munros near fort William with my 16yo son and his pal.

Any advice welcomed, it’s not an issue I’ve faced before!

Thanks
Colin.

Here's the forecast for top of Ben Nevis for Sunday https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gfh7n5qpt#?date=2020-08-09

You can get summit specific forecasts herehttps://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/specialist-forecasts/mountain/southwest-highlands#?date=2020-08-09

Doesn't look like you will be too warm at the top of the hills.

Take plenty of drink and use sunscreen.

I don't think it's particular warm in Scotland this weekend. Just a nice summer's day.

Suncream, sunhat, sunglasses, light coloured clothing and plenty of water.

Thanks, I’ll show this to the sixteen year olds who are trying to persuade me to postpone.

Cheers

Are you sure they're not just trying to get out of doing a walk?

That’s exactly what they are doing! They’ll be fine once they are out there 8)
