A leisurely drive round the snow roads from Aviemore to braemar. A coffee or 2 in the Fife Arms- very nice 👌 then a nice comfy bed at the linn o dee car park - the passenger seat !!!
Up early - jetboil on for a coffee and away at half 6
Out of the car park on a different route for a change. Once you get to the clearing theres a rough quad bike track/implant on the heather. Up this snd it soon dissappears. Deep heather all the way to the fenceline I went along to the gate rather than through the electric fence.
On up again through the heather to the 1st top with its pair of cairns.
Along and joined the fenceline again it was easier to follow again as it had a path beside it.
Broke off from the fence and headed up the the 2nd top and its trig - and views of the biggies start to open up

Deviks point and Catn a mhaim

Macdui, derry cairngorm and Beinn Mheahhoin

And along I went to the summit of Sgor Mor

That bothy seems a long way off from up here

Time to descend and head over the wet ground back to the path leading to luibeg burn . Had both poles so managed across ok
Good meeting you again today Laura , and your friend. I know you'll have got a good view on Carn a mhaim. Safe walking xnd maybe I'll bump into you on a southern Munro x

I remember the electric fence on this route......before I saw a gate 🤣 Got a bit of a shock when I touched it 🤣 Nice hill though I thought and you certainly got some nice views on your trip.

You got cracking weather for it by the looks of things Alex. I need to get round that other side of the Cairngorms again and do a few more of those hills!

I thought about going through it but I just fancied a " no dramas walk, " - they're few and far between Great vuews from up top and another less travelled hill - me being the only one on it testifies thst

Cheers yeah it was good to get 2 decent day's although one was a bit windy
I like it round braemar sometimes. It seems to move at a slower pace with less hustle and bustle of Aviemore . I'm heading up the far north mid October. I'll give you a shout nearer the time- see if you fancy a saunter

Nice one - I enjoyed this hill too! I think I did something similar to you, but from the north as part of a longer trek, which meant I avoided the electric fence (at the expense of some pretty serious peat hags )
