Nope. Bloody good guess though. Not a living thing.

I used could as the past tense of can.

It's probably not as deadly now, although I dare say it's not without it's dangers. Never having been I wouldn't know, but I know this much; back in the day you wouldn't have wanted to stay for dinner.

Funnily enough, I remember having this before and searched to see who had set it, and it was ME in July 2016. Good grief, have we been doing this quiz for that long????

This should be easy. You can always see D in the SDC

CORRECT!. the next clue would have been BoP. Saw a lovely display with grand-daughter a couple of years ago. Having failed to satisfy on the holiday before last because her favourite thing never happened (Ice cream at Janettas) I got her to order the holiday last time and SDC came out second top.

Apologies for the delay.....been on meanderings (and said meanderings have inspired the clue)

It's not Cloutie Dumpling is it. They make waves when you boil them.

The CD in my question would probably not have liked being called a Cloutie Dumpling!

No other guesses yet apart from the inspired "Cloutie Dumpling", so here's a picture clue.

The person on the left is the CD I am referring to.

The person on the right shared the same first name and year of death with CD. This other C was not Scottish.

Is the lady on the left perhaps Charlotte Dundas, after whom the steamboat was named? No idea on the other lady.
