Charlotte Dundas, who like Charlotte Bronte died in 1855, had one or possibly two steamboats named after her.

The first boat caused waves that damaged the banks of the Clyde. The second is the well known one. It was more successful, but again there were concerns about the waves damaging the riverbank, and it too ceased operation.

Ben or Bheinn, Carn, Druim, Pap, Sgurr all gaelic names for hill, mountain or ridge and above the HBF

The others including 2 that are not uniquely Scottish are below the HBF Cairnsmore, Fell, Law, T...oh dear, my theory comes unstuck unless I've missed a name, Tap of the Noth being above the HBF.

Beauly, Cromarty, Dornoch, Pentland and Solway, and Clyde, Forth, Lorn and Tay are all firths - and are not quite uniquely Scottish, because the Solway is shared with England. But I’m probably on the wrong lines because I have no idea about the two groups!

Oops sorry - missed LobeyD's post,which is correct. For some reason Lorn, Clyde, Forth and Tay are "Firths of XXXX", and all the rest are "XXXX Firths".

According to Wikipedia there are only three non-Scottish firths, aside from the Solway Firth.

I'll let LobeyD and HMHT come to a gentlemen's arrangement for next turn!
