Favourite photos of the last few months

I've been really missing seeing people's favourite photos of the month in the photo competitions, so if you had any you badly wanted to share at the time, why not share them now :D

(I'll have to do some hunting tonight before I can post myself...)

This was last week, when I was confined to my health board area (Fife) and drove to see if the fog spreading all over at sea level was also on the hills (West Lomond at 532 m) Hooray, It wasn't.

Keeping it to a hills theme, as I've hundreds of local lockdown photos that are less relevant, here are a few.

I managed a few days on Loch Shiel between "lockdowns", wild camping on my own with canoe.

I also had a few days in the Lake District around the same time, with a fabulous paddle on Wastwater.

Taken on the 25 April this picture seemed to me to be a metaphor for the restrictions of lockdown:

Image

It is a gate at Corston, up the Morton Road from East Calder / Midcalder and was on a circular walk from home over Corston Hill (all of 348m) and back via Leyden, that kept me going during lockdown. The abundance of skylarks on, and above, the hill was notable. (the barbed wire was easily bypassed).

Corston Hill is in the view from one of my regular lunchtime walks. I haven't made it out that far, but Dalmahoy Hill is a great wee viewpoint, with a rocky summit which wouldn't disgrace a much bigger hill.

I've been trying to fish out one per month, as if I really was entering a competition, which turned into quite a job - I've taken a lot more photos than usual, but mostly not very dramatic ones.

Some great photos there. I had a lot of good days out in 2020. Here is a pic from Maol Cheann-dearg where I surprised an eagle sitting on the cairn, alas no photo of that.

I caught this on a walk from East Wemyss to Lower Largo with my 8 year old son. View from Lundin Links looking back to Leven catching the last of the sun...

Apologies last post failed.

This is (hopefully) image mentioned above of Leven, when my son and I were walking the Fife Coastal Path.
