Worth re-watching

Given all the corona weary fatigue and truly boring politics on the telly. I watched DVDs of "Weirs Way" and then Griff Reece Jones "Mountain". They were fab and really lifted the spirits. I wonder if any one else has a good recommendation while were confined to barracks.

OK, I know others panned it but I enjoyed was Sheila Hancock's "Edie ". Also, another film I could watch again is "Touching the Void". Another I watched it first time around and probably wouldn't repeat but some may like it - Muriel Gray's "The Munro Show".

I enjoyed "Seven years in Tibet", though had to bite my tongue on occasion having met the last British Consul in Tibet who was there at the same time as Harrer.

Yesterday on BBC4, The River: A Year in the Life of the Tay with author Helen Macdonald was excellent. I'd watch it over and over willingly.

Highly recommended. Muriel Gray is beautiful, I'd love to have her as a hiking companion.

There's a rarely-found dvd of Michael Palin and Hamish MacInness traversing the Aonach Eagach Ridge in Glen Coe, made about 1985 I think. It is quite short but entertaining. I have a Weir's Way box set which I trawl through occasionally; I especially like his episodes covering the Braes o'Mar and Ben Lawers/Loch Tay.
I vaguely remember a series following climbers around Britain climbing sea cliffs, stacks, etc. In one episode near Cape Wrath, Joe Brown abseils down into a subterranean cavern and fly-fishes for trout in an underground pool. It may be on YouTube but I don't remember the name of it.

Without wanting to big you up but yes I agree wholeheartedly. Some of the YouTube content is excellent these days. Big shout to your own channel which I have been watching for a few years now and also Renegade Scot, which I have only come across more recently.

Another couple I should also mention, give a shout out for are, Hounds of Howgate (more long distance trails rather than hills) and the late, great Head for the Hills.
