Just did this lovely walk today (Feb 2021). As the description said, the path was boggy in places, but that was no surprise given the recent thaw in East Ayrshire. We thought the Walkhighlands route description was very good, but we would have found it helpful to know that having passed through the kissing gate at the end of stage 2, you need to turn immediately to your right to pick up the path and ‘enter mixed woodland’ (stage 3) - the path follows the edge of the woodland and the wire fence of the adjacent field is visible on your right as you walk along. On the return stretch through the Lanfine Estate, there were swathes of rhododendrons, and this is sure to be a beautiful walk in April/May.

Thanks for the walk suggestion, Walkhighlands!

Moderator's note: Thanks! We rewalked this route in July 2021 and have updated the description - including clarifying the bit you mentioned.

Quite a good walk, I remember doing this a couple of years ago...never saw the pigs though. :(
