A morning's "out and back" walk from Llanigon, Capel-y-Ffyn to the summit of Chwarel Y Fan 679m.

Starting point: The chapel

A pleasant, straight forward walk up a peak I'd not climbed before. Apart from a group traversing the ridge as part of their Crickhowell Walking Festival, we saw very few people on the hill. A good morning's walk.

I spend quite a bit of time in the Brecons/Black Mountains. Did this walk on Monday evening under beautiful conditions. Camped on the summit and descended next morning over Bal Bach into Cwm Bwchel and the Vale of Ewyas. Another mountain sortie leaving me glad to be alive.
