Cruach Innse and Sgùrr Innse, 2 corbetts by the Grey Corries

Having done the 4 munros of the Grey Corries the day before, I slept in the car (had taken a sleeping bag and bivvy bag, but decided there wasn't enough of a breeze to keep the midges away, and I'd also taken stuff so I could stay in the bothy, but decided I didn't fancy carrying it all on the walk - so I had my first ever night in a Vauxhall Corsa....) and did the 2 corbetts the next morning. A beautiful day for it too, better than the cloudiness of yesterday. Turned out to be 2 enjoyable hills, both with interesting terrain and good views.

Right from the start, this looked like it would be a good day; hills completely clear already, unlike yesterday for the munros

Looking along the Lairig Leacach track I'd continued up yesterday, wish I'd had the Grey Corries ridge in these clear conditions!

Still going up steeply, but nothing difficult, and lots of blaeberries to eat on the way as I looked back down on the start of the walk

Headed over the summit plateau and started to head down, picked up a path to weave down the craggy south side of this hill. The view ahead to Sgurr Inse didn't really show an obvious route up the steep latter sections, but it turned out to be more straightforward than it looked from this far away. I went up a slightly different way than I came down it, not deliberately, just the way I was following different bits of worn path.

...and over to the Grey Corries (Stob Ban on the left, Stob Choire Claurigh in the centre)

From the summit, returned back down to the bealach between the 2 corbetts and then west down the pathless heather and soggy grass slopes to the Lairig Leacach track. This was the view back up to Sgurr Innse. Easy walk back down the track to the car to finish off.

We also have a Corsa but we never slept in it A bit too small for two

I'm looking forward to repeating the Innses, maybe even this autumn (if weather is kind in this direction). Stob Ban is on our list for a full winter traverse. Hopefully we get a decent winter this year.

Yes, a Corsa was just about okay for 1 person for 1 night with the seats down (I'm 5'5"), but I won't be letting it out on Airbnb anytime soon; Scenic window views was about all it had going for it. Fitting 2 people in would be like a game of Twister

Definitely 2 nice hills these ones though, worth the bumpy track to get there (which wasn't as potholed as I expected)
