An easy Graham near Dalwhinnie with Kids - the short way

Creag Ruadh (Dalwhinnie) - the short way from the A9, from the bridge over Allt Garbh with Kids (8, 11, 17 yo)

The approach to the summit of Creag Ruadh is possible from more sides. We opted for a short approach from the NW.

1.7 km of the ascent was along a track, which was in some places muddy. The rest 900 m of the way up was pathless.
For the descent, we opted for a different way. From the summit we walked pathless straight down to the first turn on the track.

The way down

From the summit we walked pathless straight down to the first turn on the track. The ground - a mix of grass and mostly short heather, boggy in some places, but easily walkable:

Knowing there's actually a track just made this hill a lot more appealing. I've had it in mind for an after-work hill for a while.
