First we started to get the Brack it was February. It was a clear winter day and it look like a fine walk. Since we reached the hight of 300m the path get more and more icier and walking changes in to skating . Without crampons it had been a silly idea to go on, so we gave up an turned back. :(

Now we tried our second attempt which was more successful. The weather was good, dry with some sunny spots.

The Walk up was steep but mostly on a clear path and without ice on it there were no difficulties. From the path we had nice views back into Glen Croe.

On the hight just above 600m we reached a plateau with a small lochan that offers fine views to Loch Long.

After a short ascent we catched the top and enjoy the great panorama from the summit. Until here it was great walk.

The way down to Coilessan Glen to reach the Cowal Way was not very pleasant. There was no path and after some days with lots of rain it was very wet and quite strenuous to walk. In bad visibility this part will be difficult.

In my opinion the way back to Ardgartan along the Cowal Way is a wee bit boring. It goes along forestry plantation (some timbered) and takes time before finally reaching Ardgartan Visitor Centre.

Next time we will prefer go down in direction of Allt Coire Odhar to go back.
All in all it was a great day out and the Brack is a really fine Corbett. :D
