After my last venture up a hill, I was a bit dubious about going out again. Chose Monamenach, from Glen Isla as it looked a short route with good tracks which, to get my confidence back, sounded like what I needed. I had walked up to the Airlie Monument yesterday as it is on my door step and extended the normal walk along the river I do every day with Mez (dog face).
Being overly cautious, my alarm was set for 6am. By 8, we were off. Took about 50 minutes to reach Auchavan and park at the advised spot. The huge pot holes were full of water but my wee car managed to get through.
I'm sorry but the pictures are not that great. I took them as a momento of the walk, not the view as this wasn't what I was going for. I did't care that I saw nothing but mist....
An hour's grunt and we arrived.
I believe the views from the top are absolutely gorgeous but I was happy to just walk up a steady, easily followed track, which gave me the confidence I'd lost, along with a good work out. I would fully recommend this hill and would love to do it again. A lovely wee Corbett that is under-rated.
After a coffee and buttie, we left.
Happy hills xx
