Route description: Beinn a' Ghlò

Munros included on this walk: Bràigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain, Càrn Liath (Beinn a' Ghlò), Càrn nan Gabhar

Date walked: 17/10/2010

Time taken: 8 hours

Distance: 22.8 km

Ascent: 1361m

on our way to beinn a ghlo, to walk carn liath,braigh coire chruinn-bhalgain and my 70th munro carn nan gabhr. Alan s picked me up at 6 am and we headed over to pick up gammy leg, headed up the A9 through some bad fog and and were geared up and ready to go by 8am,we parked just over a cattle grid before loch moraig.

we set off up the track towards carn liath we could see the huge scarrred path all the way to the top , we took to some boggy terrain after the bothy hut on our left

alan s benifited from a 3 week break and powered off to the summit,soon me and gammy leg had the summit trig point in sight

gammy navigated us off the first and onto the second munro ,the path could be seen and the drop also after a short while

,the wind picked up and was carrying drizzle through the mist we got soaked to the skin,we headed back to the path and down through the glen at the base of beinn bheag ,we passed many deer on the hillside and could here the stags calling out,the path back to the track is really mucky

3hours later we are at the car a quick change into dry clothes and we head to pitlochry to the Moulin inn the 3 of us sit down for steak ,chips and an ice cold pint mmm :lol:

Nice wee report there JB,couple of cracking pics also,must admit it was a hard day with a long slog out,but at least the craick was brill

thanks MW,the area is really nice, great places to visit and friendly people in the pubs ,it was minus 1 when we arrived so hope your caravan is warm :lol:

theres loads to do in and around this area MW, you will enjoy it .good paths across these 3 but a long day out :D

The only boggy track we saw was on the walk out,never had a boggy track in all my life,not even when the track between the two corbets is feeling sick
