Some sections of this route are very boggy so good waterproof boots are a must.

Day 2.
After a very cold night, tarp had ice on both inner and outer, we retrace our steps back over Foel Wen back to the standing stone, then drop off on clear path to the right, follow path back up to main ridge and go over stile and turn right on raised walkway. You will soon be on the top of Cadair Bronwen 784 meters. The route from here on does not appear to be as widely walked as the earlier sections and some sections are extremely boggy.
From this point follow ridge just north of east to spot hight at 700 metres where path bears more to north to reach track with memorial plaque on rock outcrop, cross track then head just west of north with fence on right of you, after about 100 metres you should find a faint path near fence, follow this up until it joins a fence crossing from left to right. To get to summit point turn left and cross a fence or two (memory gone at this point).
- Moel yr Henfaes Summit Cairn
From here follow fence eastwards skirting spot hight at 592 metres and follow fence for about 2.4 km to gr sj 110 380, you should now see a clear path heading uphill with a very old fence to you right, fence is being replaced, so could be a new fence if you do this walk, but you should still see some old stone fence posts. Keep heading NE crossing track until you reach another fench crossing left to right, cross fence and turn left to Summit. From Summit head generally east following well marked track heading to Ceiriog Forest, continue past the start of the forest for 0.6 km then take track left to reach tarmac road, follow road downhill for 2.3 km to footpath bearing right uphill. Once in field bear right slightly to a gate, go through gate and follow ancient trackway down to farm, go between buildings to reach another tarmac road, continue down to t junction and turn left, follow this down to the A5. Time taken day 2 was 8 hours.
