Some sections of this route are very boggy so good waterproof boots are a must.

Started Saturday morning 11am. After a visit to the waterfall

Set off along footpath following Nant y Llyn, turning sharp left where footpath comes in over footbridge from right, follow track back towards waterfall, when at top of rise strike off right up faint path up hillside, Keep to right hand side of fence and follow to the top of Moel Sych at 827 metres (Summit cairn just over fence).
Stay on right of fence heading NE. Follow ridge down then back up to Cadair Berwyn at 830 metres, top is rock outcrop not trig point. Enjoy veiws down to Llyn Lluncaws and back over start of route.

From Cadair Berwyn go past Cairn shelter and trig point following ridge for about 1.3 km, then take ridge heading E on left hand side of fence for 0.5km, passing grassy cairn to reach standing stone, go through gate and carry on along ridge with fence now on your left. Day 2.
After a very cold night, tarp had ice on both inner and outer, we retrace our steps back over Foel Wen back to the standing stone, then drop off on clear path to the right, follow path back up to main ridge and go over stile and turn right on raised walkway. You will soon be on the top of Cadair Bronwen 784 meters. The route from here on does not appear to be as widely walked as the earlier sections and some sections are extremely boggy.
From this point follow ridge just north of east to spot hight at 700 metres where path bears more to north to reach track with memorial plaque on rock outcrop, cross track then head just west of north with fence on right of you, after about 100 metres you should find a faint path near fence, follow this up until it joins a fence crossing from left to right. To get to summit point turn left and cross a fence or two (memory gone at this point).

Moel yr Henfaes Summit Cairn

From here follow fence eastwards skirting spot hight at 592 metres and follow fence for about 2.4 km to gr sj 110 380, you should now see a clear path heading uphill with a very old fence to you right, fence is being replaced, so could be a new fence if you do this walk, but you should still see some old stone fence posts. Keep heading NE crossing track until you reach another fench crossing left to right, cross fence and turn left to Summit. From Summit head generally east following well marked track heading to Ceiriog Forest, continue past the start of the forest for 0.6 km then take track left to reach tarmac road, follow road downhill for 2.3 km to footpath bearing right uphill. Once in field bear right slightly to a gate, go through gate and follow ancient trackway down to farm, go between buildings to reach another tarmac road, continue down to t junction and turn left, follow this down to the A5. Time taken day 2 was 8 hours.
