Look like a nice day for a walk up this one.
Good shots of the tiered rocks near the top which requires a little scramble.

I never saw a thing either?

I didn't think that scramble was as bad as the slab either above or below it - that wasn't very nice - most people had avoided that on a tiny, muddy route by the side of it... over the 'drop?' - don't know if it was much of a drop as all I could see was the edge disappearing into the mist...

This looks lovely. Why don't I remember any of it?

(as with the other posters, probably because the weather was atrocious!)

Yeah, it almost makes you want to go and do it again doesn't it?

Nice report and pictures. Another one on my list to do, hopefully without the clag that seems to be a common occurance!

Excellent pictures Alan. The weather was good too. I particularly liked Ben Vane because it seems to have it all. Bogs, crags, False summits. Superb :D

Rain...hail... clag... freezing cold wind... ah sorry, forgot all Scottish summits have all that all the time!

Naw, That must be Englandshire your talking about MC. Are you sure you were in Scotland. Did you use a map and compass or GPS

I'm strictly map and compass... At least when I'm walking in Englandshire, I can normally choose good days to walk instead of claggy ones

Thanks for the posts.

We were lucky with the weather.
Tremendous views throughout the walk.
As Monty said - Ben Vane has been one of my favourites - had it all : nice walk in ; steep-ish climb; bit of scrambling - not too scary though, and a fab plateau with great vistas.
