Weather: Clear and sunny with a chilly wind blowing on the tops.
Hills Climbed: Eildon Mid Hill, Eildon North HIll and Eildon Wester Hill.

Being a nice sunny clear Sunday i decided to walk some some of my local hills and as i hadn't been out in a while i thought i better stretch my legs in preperation for this weekends walkhighland meet up at Glencoe. The aches and pains from the previous days game of rugby where needing nurtured and not tortured but never mind as i thought a wee hike would do me some good. So i manged to climb all 3 of the Eildons in no time at all, with most of the time spent at the tops taking photos and i was really surprised at just how much of the Scottish Borders can be seen on a clear day. After having such a grand day on my local hills i think i shall have to walk some more of them! :D

Strangely, I've not been up these yet. Reckon it will make a good winter excursion :) .

I think those were my mother's favourite Scottish hills when she could still get out walking

Haven't seen a report on these hills before, I looked at doing them earlier this year but it was too windy on the day. They are definitely back on by 'to do' list after seeing your views. Thanks for that. :D

I've played a lot of golf in this area but never done any walks. This might change my mind especially with winter on the way. Delightful country and there are some great pubs ! :) Thanks for bringing it to my attention !

Cheers folks, glad to see my report has raised 'hill awareness' down here in the borders.

Yeah nothing but rugby mad in these border towns, maybe its because i used to deliver the late Bill McClarens newspaper or that i had a uncle who played for scotland. Theres no escaping it! :wtf:

Hmm, that's got me thinking... If you are 24, then your uncle must be roughly 50. The first rugby match I ever attended was at Murrayfield on March 17, 1990 :D . It's all been downhill since then  . Was he that vintage or circa 1984?

Maybe i should have said great uncle.

He is the great Billy Hunter who was capped 7 times for Scotland playing second row in the late 60's.

Im guessing you were'nt at that game between Scotland v England in 1967 lol!
