As my walking partner jetted of to Majorca today i decided to get out on my own and do something rather less demanding than usual,so got my gear together and headed down to Broad Law,had to start somewhere for my 1st corbett.Arrived at meggat stane at 9.45 and set of at 10,got to the top of the Law just after 11,admired the various big shiney metal things then headed on towards Dollar Law.I then decided rather than retrace my route i would head down the old thieves road then follow the cramalt burn down to the Meggat Resevoir, maybe on hindsight not such a good idea as it was a fair old slog back along the road to the car but i made it back at just after 4.An enjoyable days walking, maybe not comparible with the highlands but still a good day out.

I was up here in March but didn't bother going on to Dollar Law as would have run out of daylight. I think the metal paraphenalia is air traffic control stuff. It's a bit of a list-ticking hill and not in the same class as the other 2 nearby Corbetts but I still enjoyed it for what it was.

They are air traffic control things - the big round one is a 'VOR' beacon for the guidance of aircraft

Good pics - I've done the Corbetts nearer to Moffat many years ago but must get back to the borders. There's so much to Scotland :D

Could not agree with you more Paul,we are very lucky to have such a wide choice whether it is the highland mountains or the rolling hills of the lowlands there is something for everyone to enjoy, Scotland is a special country in many ways. :)
