The Storr, Isle of Skye

We walked up to the Old Man a few years back and it was as boggy as anything, so we were pleased to find this time that there's an excellent new path up through the trees - it's much more pleasant now!

Above the Old Man we continued to the Storr itself - using the route described that goes right round the corrie - the one just above the cliffs looked frightening! Views were superb, especially on the way down; it doesn't look like there is any way down through the cliffs until the last moment.

Shame the last bit across the moor was so soggy - why not improve this path too to make the whole round?

Did this back in may 1982 the cuillin was off limits low cloud and heavy snow cover, we walked out to Hartaval and Baca Ruadh as well, no bog trotting as there was a blanket of snow! Total respect to Don Whillans for climbing the old man could not even see how to get started on it!
