Hi all, had planned this walk for a couple of weeks and had taken the day off work to do it and we couldn`t have hoped for better, weatherwise. After a lovely fried breakfast in Tyndrum we carried onto Bridge of Orchy in eager anticipation as we passed snow capped peaks all around us and a near complete blue sky above. We parked up at the railway station and headed onto the path via the underpass.

It doesn`t look that far a walk up towards the bealach, but it does take a while to get up there along a mostly good dry path, with only a few boggy parts which take you by surprise as to how deep they can be !

As we walked up we kept looking back at the mountains slowly rising behind us.

Stunning views and as we headed near the bealach, Tam promised views on the other side that would rival what we had already seen. And it was true as we stepped onto the ridge the sight ahead of us was stunning, although didn`t quite capture it all on camera.

We stopped here for a wee rest, taking in the view and posing for pics.

It was quite breezy up here and there was snow covering most of the ground now and gradually getting deeper, but was hard enough to walk on without it being slidy or too dangerous. The black ice on the rocks that you have to scramble over was pretty treacherous however and something that must be watched out for, one step on that stuff and you`re on your ass (or worse) pretty quickly. We,of course, lost the path at this point but followed the many deep footprints in the snow on our way up and as the sun was directly in our faces now, sunglasses were required. As we approached the peak before the summit the wind was really picking up and the clouds seemed to be homing in on us, somehow they never covered us and crept over the surrounding hills instead.
Soon we were on top but didn`t hang around much as the wind was really blowing hard and we set off back the way we came stopping at the bealach for some luke warm soup and sandwiches.
