This day, was a day for walking in the hills.

Simple as that....

I was lucky that my day’s off were mid week (not unusual) before another long stint of being cooped up in an over-heated ward.

Unable to decide which of the local Glens were to be explored, I armed myself with a map and pin and took a stab.

Glen Isla it was.

Parked up at 187 647 which marks one of the parts of the Cateran Trail.

Entered through the large gate and headed on up the track.

Twice along the way, there is a track which leads off to the right. Keep on the left track to head for Badandun Hill.

Spot the dog?

Great track (not for everyone – but for me (scaredy cat) - it’s okay)

Badandun Hill is tucked away and is only seen when nearly upon it and the sun was so bright that many of my pictures were unusable (still haven’t learnt to use this camera)

This hill was a real pleasure to walk.

Ascent was not strenuous in the slightest and even with the soft thaw, the crinkly mush underfoot in one small area was easy enough to get through. I was blessed to have such weather. The air quality was clear and exhilarating, the temperature was so mild it required removal of layers on the ascent. It really was a T-shirt and short’s type of day in Isla.

Not a breath of wind and complete silence from everyone and everything.

Perfect respite.

Nice pics as usual MW.

Shame to see your snow's nearly gone, hardly any left in the lakes - plenty to come hopefully just as long as they clear the roads.

You were out yesterday as well  Not fair!

Nice shots. There seem to be loads more tracks on this hill than the map shows.

I enjoyed ascending this hill just over a year ago - got similar nice conditions to yourself - Badandun Hill.
Always interesting to see a different route. I ascended from Fergus.
Lucky you getting out yesterday :)

Nice pics MW, I think the colour of that heather is incredible. Looks even better against the rich blue sky. Certainly got great walking weather up there at the moment with this high pressure hanging about. :)
