Arrived at Glenshee 8am with weather ok and headed up the path over Sron na Gaoithe heading to Glas Maol. Low cloud had arrived when I got there but soon moved on. I then headed to Creag Leacach and down to arrive at the foot of the Cairnwell, wasn,t to nice coming down as it was a bit slippy in parts as I found out. Finally reaching the foot of the Cairnwell I headed straight on up reaching the summit and having a bite to eat. I was hoping I could have got over to the Carn a Ghedidh but was running out of time as needed to get home for 4pm so it was onto the Carn Aosda. It was quite busy with skier's and mountain rescue training heading to Carn Aosda, once on the summit headed back down to the car park reaching the car just before 2pm and off home. Another good day. :D

I like this route :)
Looks like it traverses bits of the Cairnwell and Aosda that most people (me included) don't bother going to. Carn an Tuirc and Cairn of Claise could easily be included if you had more time too.

I like these four.

Wondered what the state of play was with the snow up there just now as feel like a stroll up that neck of the woods later this week

Amazing photos of all those hares in one shot. These mountains may not be the most dramatic but there is always tons of wildlife up there despite all the activity.

Yes, I did want to take that route but wasn't quite sure if I could make it round in time. I done the Carn an Tuirc and Cairn of Claise end of last year but I think it would have been better to include them in on this one too. Maybe next time hopfully getting more time :)

Just after I got that shot there was about 20 hares if not more appeared to sit not far from me but by the time I got the camera up to take a pic the mountain rescue's dog had scared them away :)

Yes the snow up there is still good to walk on whats left of it, was still quite a few icy patches below the grass as I found out coming down :)

Good report Csimbad,
I am surprised at the lack of snow now compared to a week or two ago. Thats the great thing about these trip reports. We get up do date weather conditions. :D Nice route and as you said you can add munros here or there on this walk if you wanted to. :D
