Well done Paul!
Hmm, no hill named Foyers hill?
upon 'googling' Foyer's Hill the true/proper name comes up with
Creag Nighean Iain Duinnits in the OS Landranger 26 map, but when we did it (around spring 2007) when i was just getting back into climbing again, it was very much spur of the moment using a little leaflet from the local post office!
The leaflet referred to the hill as 'Foyers hill' and described it as a rarely used path with a great view of Loch Ness and even a high chance of spotting deer within the woods.
- Seeing through the trees a little hard on the hill
We got lost as the path passes through overgrown woodland and vanishes! with no gear apart from our sarnies i used a patented climb a tree technique to see which way we had to go. (no real danger as the hill is tiny and could be circled in probably an hour or 2.
)
- Midge heaven = improvised head cover
Note the leaflet a poooor substitute for a map!
At the top a couple of jet fighters scared the life out of us by swooping past our ears while we ignorantly gorged on our sarnies...
- View was worth the short hike
apologies for the poor pic quality, they are from a mates camcorder stills.
