We had a nice little walk up Ben Tirren on Saturday . I was out again with my Sister and her human. Parked at the wood at Adielinn Cottage and walked up the track, crossing the burn and then up the gentle southern slopes on the Loch Wharral track.

There was a herd of red deer just below the snow line but when you get close they are a bit bigger than those white rabbits that are in abundance around here and not much use to chase!

Branching off right we hit the snow and by the time we reached the cairn of Ben Tirran we had complete snow cover and were in the cloud with an interesting "grey out". Met a party here with two well equipped collie chaps. Now suffering from coat envy!

A quick check of the map and out with the compass gave us a bearing and after ten minutes the summit cairn sheltering the trig point came into view.

We could have extended the day but fancied a pie and a pint at the Clova hotel and descended the way we came enjoying a bit of sliding on the snow .

Another great day out with Cassy and Nora and Chris
