 blimey, dave, that's some day! Glad you both made it off the hill okay and I hope Julie recovers speedily. I'm a winter beginner slowly building up experience - tales like this help us all learn to take care out there.
Cheers

Jeezo Dave, I thought you were going to say Wilson had fallen!
If I'd never seen his face again....

In all seriousness, just glad you're all okay. Julie sounds like a battler.

I remember going up Binnein Mor earlier this year and looking at the crags and when you wrote 'we moved over to the right', I thought no!

Hopefully see you on the hill soon.

As the others have said, thats a hell of a story mate, my sincere best wishes for Julies speedy recovery. It could have been so different. Which doesnt bear thinking about.
Re dogs, I was a serving fireman, and I have personal experience twice, of people dying, trying to save their dogs. I am a dog lover, and would have done the same thing to try and save my dog. The message is not to take them on a potentially dangerous trip. I know I couldnt live with myself, if my dog died on one of my leisure trips.

Dave, Julie and Wilson, glad your all ok - albeit a couple of broken ribs.

Accidents can, and do, occur but it only reminds us to be ever vigilant and alert on the hills in these conditions. You both had crampons and axes out showing the awareness of safety issues, i think Julie was really unlucky. Tough woman to walk back that 8k  8)

Seems there was a few accidents at the weeknd. The guy who fell 1000ft, Julie and a guy burst his leg descending from the bealach at Dorain & Dothaidh.

Be careful folks and always have your ice axe out - crampons when needed.

Heres hoping for a speddy recovery for all.

Ha ha - Charlie says

I think the dude that fell 1000ft from the summit was just about to get his axe out - lucky guy.
I hope he reaches his goal of summitting Everest, be some achievment.

Just read report also. Looked at it just after it was posted but only looked at photos to check out Wilsons action shots. Hope Julie on mend and much respect for the trudge back - which I have toiled on when fit and uninjured. Was at Mamores at same time with the dugs (from Glen Nevis) and had close encounter with the chopper referred to. Busy day!
