While driving up the A9 on Saturday to do The Fara and Meall nan Eagan, i caught a glimpse of Carn Liath and decided i was gonna climb Beinn a' Ghlo very soon. So after reading the 2 reports by Rockhopper and Csimbad, who both climed them on that Saturday, i decided as the forecast was looking good for Tuesday i would do them then and into the bargain collect my 100th blue balloon.

So set off walking at nine heading up the track to the old tin hut and the path to CL.

CL was in cloud, but i had faith in the bbc forecast ha ha which was cloudy up till midday then sunny spells, so i continued up th path, spotting some deer enroute

I arrived on CL at 10.23 and still in cloud, was the bbc going to get it right?

Blue sky so quite possibly

Onwards now to the 2nd summit of the day, but where's the blue sky went?

Arrived on the 2nd summit at 11.33

It was now 11.54 and could see CNG, looks like the bbc got it right for a change

At this point i had to use the crampons for a little time as the snow was getting hard but once on the ridge things were fine.

I arrive on the 3rd summit and my 100th Munro at 14.05, gave myself a pat on the back and said well done son, then had some lunch. After lunch as the sun was well and trully out it was a leisurely stroll back to the start. On my way back a spoke to a couple of guys who had just came up over Airgiod Bheinn and were heading to CNG and doing the route in reverse.
The route down initially was good going due to the snow but further down it does get pretty boggy.

Eventually i got back on the track after having to chase and retrieve my water bottle which i'd dropped in the stream while trying to fill it and once on the track it wasn't far back to the start
I also got to see CL on the way back

Got back to the car after a great day out at 17.15 and felt i could have just walked home, being on such a high after my 100th. Only a 183 to go now :D

  Nope, not mine I'm afraid. I didn't need to use crampons at all that day, only microspikes
