Smashing report M-W looks like you all had a fine day(how did you find wearing crampons).
Been up Cairn Gorm once but plan to go back soon.

what i wlways like the most is that you're standing there on cairngorm, freezing to death of snow and wind and then have a look to meall a'bhuachaille and ... there's spring there :)

Top report and some great pics too.
Partial to the occasional bum slide myself - though would rather avoid the complaint referred to in the second part of the walk title.

Hi MW really enjoyed the report and your photos are stunning, looks like you all had a great day out. Have never tried bum-slides ( too scared of getting hurt!) but might give it a go one of those days!! :)

Recognise some of the folks in that pic - pretty sure Hazel and I passed your group on the top of Cairn Lochain and then overtook you just before the car park when your group spread out a bit. 8)

I think you're right. I stood aside to let a guy and his lass past while I stood waiting for one of the group. I mustv'e looked awful as I felt shattered and could only mumble as I grimaced what I thought looked like a smile. So the yeti in the purple coat was me

Your photos are a bit out of kilter. This is the top of Cairn Lochain:

As it happens I'm in it and Hazel's head is in it.

Here's the reciprocal view - your group is on the left.

Can't see your multi-coloured socks though
