Ben Vorlich/Stuc a Chroin

This walk was done on a absolutely sunny April day back in 2009.

Ben Vorlich was a good hard going walk, but it was Stuc a Chroin that stole my heart! I was taken by the sheer beauty of Stuc a Chroin as we continued on from Ben Vorlich. I had the best time ever scrambling up the rocks (I tend to stick to paths or grassy grounds). Then the views at the top were amazing!!! This was the hike where I spent the rest of the day with a mighty big grin on my face. The day was ended with a visit to a pub on Loch Earn for a well earned meal and pint!!

Just looking at the photos still bring out that big grin on my face! :D

Good report and pics mac. Hoping to do these two this summer. Did you come back down the same scrambly bit up Stuc a Chroin. Was it quite straight-forward in both directions?

Cheers! No we didn't go back down the same way. We veered left to avoid the scramble down. I would say it was straight forward but we had a nice dry day. There is a path to follow up through the rocks, but it did disappear at time!! (lol)

Some great pics there, the one titled 'scrambling break' really captures the feel of it. Great report, no wonder you were grinning for the rest of the day :D

Cheers Chris! My mate in the scrambling break picture was not keen to scramble up, being on his first hike, but he did it and like me was a very happy man for the rest of the day! :-)
