Arriving late was the plan, would be good timing for getting high for pitching the tent. Getting a small part of the walk out of the way, leaving the majority for the following day seemed like a good idea for our first camp of the year.
Heading up the East slope of Meall an t-Seallcidh from Glen Kendrum we would gain the ridge then make our way to the summit. We then carried on to Cam Chreag and skirted round Meall Fhiodhain planning to find a place to pitch between Meall Fhiodhain and the 789 spot height. No luck with a good pitch around there as the ground was like a giant sponge.
We decide on the top of the 789 spot height. We climb up and find an exposed flat but dry area to pitch.

Sunday morning comes and we are ready to go, slept okay considering how hard the wind and rain blew most of the night. Opted to head over to The Stob (Meall na Frean) and also Stob Caol. Thankfully we travelled light as the terrain was murder under foot. We took only water every thing else got left at camp.
Arrive back at camp we make time for a quick brew. We then pack up and head swiftly for Creag mac Rainaich on reaching the summit rather than drop down and out, we decide to stay high and dry and carry on around the coire to Meall Sgallachd. We then carry on for a bit more before dropping down to the track and back out via Glen Kendrum.

All in all it was a good start to our 2011 camping. We got to try out our new wee Vango Banshee 200 tent that we purchased for a trip later in the year. It performed really well in the harsh wind and rain.
