An alternative route upto Fairfield from Patterdale. Discovered this little beauty in the "Great mountain days in the lakes" book.
Starts by heading up a valley I have never ventured up before. Figured if I hadn't heard of it then the majority of others out over the bank holiday weekend hadn't either!
Really lovely day out, with amazing sun. Still the wind picked up at the top, peaking at 50MPH!!!
