Nope, I still have the Comp but I got a good second hand price on a Scarp 1 and it is palatial in comparison! At 6'5" the only problem with the Comp was the tapered ends which the Scarp solves for a minor penalty in weight. I'm hanging on to the Comp for the moment - either to lend to smaller friends, or to use for super lightweight summer outings where long stays in the tent are unlikely :D

Frogwell wrote:It was actually your route I was trying to follow Alistair. Out of curiosity, do you save any of your gpx files from your walks?

Yes, I save them all and upload them for all my reports (since I got my ViewRanger / GPS phone). The mapping facilities on this site are superb and its this feature that really makes WH outstanding for me.

Just noticed it's possible to download users gpx files - I didn't see that little link at the bottom of the maps before. I'd just been downloading the ones from the main route page and modifying them to suit.

I should probably keep my tracks, I've just been deleting them when I get home.

I have a Scarp 1 and have to say it is impressive in the wind though I wouldn't have been keen to test it over the last couple of days...
Oh yeah, didn't think of the tgo people - that would probably explain it.

That's the first time I'd used the cross poles and guylines on the side of my scarp, it certainly seemed very stable, but then again I was in a far more sheltered spot than my last two camps on Quinag and Lochnagar.
