After parking in the Forest car park at Craig we set of over the road and level crossing on the long walk in, after crossing River Carron we took the track to the left just before next bridge. (OS maps show another track between the 2 bridges but I could see no sign of first track.) This next section to the top of the forest is quite a slog. Once out through the forest gate it's a nice gentle walk all the way to Pollan Buidhe.
- The track to Pollan Buidhe
We walked past the first wire bridge to the second one hoping to cross on this, but as the hand wire was only just above my knees and not very taut we decided to cross barefoot, better to have cold feet than spin over the wire and go in head first. After crossing over we followed the stream up towards Bealach Bhearnais, stopping to have our first lunch break just before the top out of the wind.

Once at the top we then bore left gaining about 40 metres in hight to a small lochan (not marked on map)
- Small lochan and the way ahead, Sgurr Chonnich top is on right in photo.
Bearing round left of the lochan a path soon becomes clear, and the route to the top soon is straight forwards with some nice easy scrambling. About half way up the first slope the wind picked up and we had a good hail storm so it was on with the waterproofs, but within 10 mins it had stopped and the exertion was making us wetter than the hail so it was back off with the waterproofs.
- Sgurr a Chaorachain
Once on the top we continued in the same direction for 250 Metres and then bore left to go down and back up to Sgurr a Chaorachain where we stopped for our second lunch.

After lunch we took the north ridge soon bearing NE staying on the high point of the ridge until we reached the Allt an Lubain Bhuide. On reaching the stream we then carefully picked our way past rock outcrops and steep slippy grass slopes generally northward. once down it was a simple job of recrossing the Allt a Chonais (kept boots on this time) and rejoining the track back through the forest.
