Ben Vorlich and Stuc a’Chroin
Had a spare day so I thought I’d spend a morning with these guys.
Got a nice & early start arriving alongside Ardvorlich House around eight. Easily found the start and some clear signs pointed the directions for walkers, no problems. Weather was on my side with some excellent morning sunshine, had my fingers crossed it would last.
- Loch Earn
Path very well worn and easy to follow, great view of the beautiful house.
- The Grand House
Fairly good climb & gets a little steeper towards the summit. Very enjoyable and got the heart beating.
View from the top was nothing short of spectacular.
- Ben Vorlich summit looking back to the trig point.
Got my first look at Stuc a’Chroin and the scramble that was ahead. Not having a good head for heights it was needless to say that I was pretty nervous. Soon covered the descent and the climb up to the bottom and got stuck in.
- Stuc a'Chroin
Heart was going like mad and looking down didn’t seem like a good option but soon made it feeling exhilarated.
- The Climb
Views here are well worth it!!
- What a view
Not fancying going down the face I took the path down the Corrie and over some quite boggy grass, got a good look at what I had been up and was very pleased with myself.
- I came, I conquered
Soon arrived back at the path descended to the car about 1pm.
Great climb!
