It has been a few months since i had time to knock up a TR due to other committments
, but circumstances change and i now submit an unsusual little double.
Had a look at my Munro Map on WH and noticed Challum & Buidhe distorting my colour co-ordination, i had to sort this out. . . having OCD like
My only obstical was the 40 mile drive between the two!.
Left Glasgow 5.30am for the 64mile drive to Challum and was walking by 7am.
Heading to Kirkton Farm, I was walking into the glorious morning sun
You first pass over a bridge....
Taking note of the views South to the Crainlarich Hills
Head along the track and take a left before the farm. Do not follow the WHW but a track to the right of it.
After 50M i headed for an old bridge near the railway track and crossed it. This brought me out to a fenceline which i followed NE to 800m before heading North to the summit.
The path is very boggy in places but dosn't present any difficulties, the warm sun soon drying wet muddy trail shoes.
The views South always attracted my eye..

I soon reached the summit, it had taken 2hours.
Looking back along the last part of the ridge before the summit, which was a nice walk.
Had a quick drink whilst taking in the splendid 360 views.
Retrace steps and head back whilst taking in the view west to Ben Lui

Got to the car at 10.30am, had taken 3.5hrs.
Next i drove 40 mile to Glen Lyon to bag Meall Buidhe.
Whilst admiring the scenery i missed my cut off signed Loch Estate and ended up at Loch Lyon instead of Lochan Daimh, duh duh duh
Quick drive back the way and was good to go at 12.30pm
Buidhe presents no difficulties. Park just before the Dam and head up the Northern landrover track 600M before pulling off right and continueing NW to the summit of Buidhe.
Again it is boggy in places but once the plateau is reached you are rewarded with spectacular views west to rannoch moor, North to the Ben and Mamores, East the Cairngorms and south to arrochar alps.
I reached the summit in 50mins.

Had a quick bite to eat and retraced my steps to the car.
The walk had taken 1hr 50mins.
I would recommend this walk as it has spectacular views for not much effort, and it feels very remote....

All that was left was the 86mile drive home, via Go Outdoors Clydebank for a cool new pair of sunglasses
Before i got home my OCD kicked in and i valeted the car and put it through a wash
The 2 walks combined took 5hrs 20mins and the driving all in was around 5hrs.
