In Oban for the week and had Wednesday off, so did the walk on Kerrera weather was blue sky's most of the week with little cloud. Took the little ferry over £5 return.

Start point is from slipway of ferry and follows a good track for most parts, there is parts where you can go higher or keep closer to the water but the lower paths were very boggy, and the views up higher were great with the clear sky's.

The landscape on Kerrera itself is amazing and there are caves if you take the lower paths near the water, there are also rock formations similar to Giants Causeway or so a student geologist told, but I was gone too far to turn back.

Lots of people friendly people out walking and mountain bikes and then the not so friendly turned a corner my way so I stood off the path for them.

Made my way down towards the castle and passed a tearoom and bunkhouse which I was told do be booked out but there are farm buildings that rent out rooms, if anyne decides to stay.

After the castle took the coastal path which leads back up to higher path further on and evryone was feeling the heat now

Made my way back to ferryslip which basically the path leads too after going through a farmyard, you can extend this walk by taking a path to a monument north of the island, but ran out of water and the heat was getting too much, a few more photo's.

Thanks for posting you report & pics. I've often wondered if Kerrera would be worth a visit & it looks like it will be. Lismore's a good place for walking as well, great views and coastline.

Nice to see some more of Kerrera.
I briefly visited the island in Dec 2010 to ascend Carn Breugach. Wish I had spent a bit more time exploring.

Yeah I agree, Cruachan and Taynuilt Peak.

Excellent report on a great walk - the only disappointment for me was that the cake shop was shut.
