This was my first walk in around 2 months and despite going to the gym 2-3 times a week I am pretty tired this afternoon as I write this report.

Before choosing Beinn Each I swithered about tackling something a bit bigger but I have to say I'm glad I didn't as this was just about my limit for today. It really is amazing how you can lose your fitness so quickly - during the summer and autumn I was regularly tackling two munros in the same day. There is no way I could have done that today.

The weather in the area has been glorious for walking most of the week and luckily it held out this morning for us (me Ruby and Penny - my Father-in-laws new dog - a rescue Gordon Setter cross). We set off from the layby on the A84 at 0900.

We stopped for a quick cup of tea and some pics after about an hour and reached the summit at around 11am. After another cup of tea, a bite to eat and some more pictures (with my new camera - Olympus Stylus Tough - bought to replace my Blackberry as the main picture taker - it just wasn't made for this type of thing!) we started back down.

Very little wind and good visibility made this a very enjoyable walk. I would say there were probably 15 people on the hill today (although maybe some more joined in the afternoon?)

Much better than sitting at home watching sky sports or re runs of Friends on e4!

Back to the car by 1230 and home in time for the football - a great day!

Note to self - remember to cut your toe nails before you wear those boots again!! ouch

Mw - she is great little dog but you should see the scars on her stomach - somebody somewhere should be ashamed.

Rockhopper - thanks for the confirmation, I was reasonably sure it was Stuc but I'm no expert!
