Set of for Glen Lyon at 8.30 Friday morning and arrived at Loch an Daimh at 12 after stopping for a couple of pies in Callander and ended up buying myself a new jacket, well I needed a new one anyway,so it was about 12.30 before we got walking, heading of up to Meall Buidhe, the rain had been pouring down when we left Edinburgh earlier but here it was dry with just a few low clouds so it made for a pleasant walk all the way up to the summit and we had a short break before heading back down,as we were camping overnight we took our time, arriving back at 4.15 and had ourselves a cup of coffee before putting the tents up,then a wee wander about the area before dinner, soon after the weather changed, strong wind and rain so it was time to retire to the tents.Up at 6.30 and started packing up while trying to keep the midges out of our faces, coffee and a couple off cereal bars later and we headed off at 7.30 for Stuc an Lochain, not a midge in sight now as it was pouring with rain, given the choice I'll take the rain any day! The initial steep climb was pretty hard going but once on the ridge it was a fine walk all the way along to the summit, didn't stop long as it was rather cold up there this morning,as I'm sure the many walkers we met on the way down will agree, rather than descent back down the steep section we decided to follow the old fence posts all the way down into Coir an Duich then traversed round beneath the crags of Coire Ban and arrived back at the car at 11, by now there was at least a dozen cars parked so there were lots of walkers out enjoying themselves today, got our gear stowed away and headed home via Greggs in Callander of course.
