Good walk - by the time we'd had breakfast and driven up from Sleat, (and back) it occupied most of the day although we only had about 4-5 hours walking. The route through the forest is clear but steep, and busy. Don't rush because there aren't a lot of respites. People gradually thin out as you reach the old man, but I am still not completely clear which of several rocky pinnacles is the man himself. Don't walk across to the signs thinking they are waymarks, they are just warnings about falling rocks (no!). Once on top the view are fantastic, and the edge seems even more precipitous. August 09 was very wet, so working out just which string of falling water was the stream down which to walk was a bit confusing but we found it in the end. Similarly wern't sure where to go at the bottom of the cliffe - in the end we struck through the forest hoping to faind the original path but failed and ended up on the road. Wish we'd parked downhill of the full carpark rather than uphill but hey, that's life. At least we got to check the car from the top! Great walk, most guides people were carrying just circled the summit and came back down through the forest trail. Good to be doing something different.
