Some notes on kayaking in to Beinn Fhionnlaidh

I thought it might be helpful to have a few notes on this expedition, even though in the end we never went up the hill.
The idea was to kayak in to Beinn Fhionnlaidh from the dam end, camp, then climb it and the two to the south. In fact we had appalling weather and aborted the trip, but here is a bit of info.

Drive up the the right hand end of the dam wall, past the obvious car parking area and up to the wall end itself, where there is a notice saying "no cars beyond this point". However, it is OK to drive beyond this and in a few yards you will see a boathouse and launching area. Unload here, then take the car back down to the parking area.
It takes the best part of two hours to paddle down to the narrows.
There are no possible camping spots immediately west of Allt Coire an Lochan, it is steep right down to the water. We camped about 1km to the east and I don't recommend it.
Anything that looks like a sandy shore is in fact sticky, sinky, muddy stuff.
The best camping is on the other side at "Benula Lodge" (in fact Benula Lodge is under the water and there is only a cottage there - the "Seldom Inn")
The Allt Coire an Lochan is completely impassable when in spate (as it was for us) and I would guess that even when not churning down, it is too much to cross. Therefore, set off to the west of the burn and avoid the whole problem.
