Wowza!

Date walked: 19/05/2018

Time taken: 5 hours

Distance: 16.38km

Ascent: 608m

Well that was interesting!
The big ascent was truley enjoyable. I steamed up the hill, it’s a fun climb.
We got a little lost after that for a while and I’m really glad I downloaded a gpx reader because OL1 would not have saved me!! We got lost in the bog after kinder force. It was so damp under foot, I actually sank thigh deep at one point and got completely stuck. I almost lost my boots!! Note to self, next time you see the metal slabs before the bog... PICK THEM UP. Some make shift bridge foundations have been laid over the worst bogs for you to lay the metal over but you gotta hope they’re lying around. I was pretty scared!
Toward the valley egde we found a river bed which was a much needed bog break.
The views are out of this world!! After that it was just views views views. The plateau looks like the surface of the moon. Lots of interesting rocks and shapes.
The descent was slow and steady and easy on the knee.
Can’t wait to do this again, avoiding the bog of course.
Fantastic walk!!!
