Glen Finglas Dam/Brig O'Turc
Date walked: 09/09/2010
Time taken: 3 hours
Distance: 6km
Lovely afternoon walk. Not enough time for a report, but just about enough to upload a few images.
Will no doubt add a report on Glen Finglas later on when I have finally had the opportunity to walk the Mell Trail here (13 miles). This time, I just walked up to the Glen Finglas viewpoint which indeed has absolutely beautiful views toward the two glens you then walk, Glen Finglas and Glen Meann.
Glen Finglas definitely deserves some attention; it's an important regeneration project for the Woodland Trust as well as a great glen for walking and cycling. The Trust is recreating ancient woodlands here.
View toward Ben Venue with Loch Achray at its foot.
Finglas Reservoir provides the people from Glasgow with fresh water. The water level is quite low right now.
Ben Ledi in the background; I remember looking down onto Finglas Reservoir when I was on top of Ben Ledi.
And the rain following in my footsteps...
More when I next walk this lovely glen all the way!
