Head up the steps, turn left and follow what used to be the old red route ( I think), crossing over the other small car park onto the forestry tracks. Long slog up the hill then bear right at a fork. Round and up past the old quarry (on your right) and reach the long track that runs along the ridge at the top.
Stop for a quick drink then continue to your right, enjoying the views. Head back into the treeline, following the track round and eventually you'll pick up the green route markers to guide you back to the car park.

Tab it out for an hour, or take a few and stroll round.
