Earlier this year I decided to set myself a Challenge to reach 50 Munros before my 50th Birthday in October with Ben Nevis hopefully being my 50th. I am currently at 34 bagged so thought I better get going ! Having a young family and other commitments will make it tough to achieve but the challenge started on Friday with Buchille Etive Beag and what a way to start, I really enjoyed this walk

Decided to walk this from the Glencoe side just across the road from the large Cairn. As all the reports indicate it does not take long to reach the bealach between pt902 and Stob Coire Raineach, I completed it in about an hour and when you reach this point you are rewarded with a magnificent view across to The Buchille Etive Mor ridge, stunning ! Another 30 minutes and I was at the summit of the 1st Munro, Stob Coire Raineach. It is worthwile walking further down to take in the view across Rannoch Moor.



It was then time for the ridge walk across to Stob Dubh, something I was a little apprehensive about but need not to have been. Although it does narrow it is fine and very soon I was on the summit of Stob Dubh It is very worthwhile going on past the summit to take in the views down to Glen Etive and Loch Etive, one of my favourite views yet, simply amazing. Didn't linger too long at the summit as I was heading back for a Night Out in town but took a few snaps which I am really pleased with.



Had an interesting experience on the way down when my left thigh suddenly tightened up badly and I was in a lot of pain for a while Thankfully it eased off and I was able to carry on but not an experience I want to experience again, I am lead to believe this could have been a build up of lactic acid. Has never happened before thankfully.

36 done and 14 to go now....thinking about the 6 of the east side at Glenshee the next good weekend weather wise
